NEWS!!!
The stars aligned this week when by complete chance, happenstance or perhaps fate I bumped into two fellow blues men!
Guitar and Bass player, Johnny Mayhem, who, back in the day, actually played with some of my biggest blues heroes, including Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf.
And
Robert ''TOO TALL'' Batchelor, harmonica extraordinaire, who toured the United States playing the blues, graced the boards at the Isle of White Festival and even blew the Philharmonic Orchestra home.
After a little chat, which was soon followed by a little jam, we got together to put the world to rights in a very groovy live music bar in Portugal, where we found ourselves on stage performing, among other songs, my new number, The Boogie Blues.
I have to say that while I love the original, recorded version and all the intricacies, this impromptu rendition, delivered with a lot of love and spontaneity by myself, Johnny Mayhem [guitar] and Mr Robert ''TOO TALL'' Batchelor [harmonica] was so much fun to take to stage.

MORE ABOUT THE BAND
Lead singer and lyricist, Rachel M has been releasing music since 2016. Her fluidity as an artist has allowed her to create within multiple musical genres.
Having received global radio airplay and critical acclaim, her past collaborations include an impressive list of musical maestros from the legendary pianist, Mike Garson, best known for his work with David Bowie, to the internationally acclaimed, Singaporean guitar wizard, Randolf Arriola.
At this time, her primary focus is exploring her earliest inspirations in music and passion for the blues, through her new band, Barbarella And The Boogie Blues [full lineup for the live band to be announced shortly]. Rachel would like to thank, Ray Fury, Mark Mochan, John Morrison, Ed Cunningham, Vince Hall, Sim Hassall, Bill Jenksand Dan Cambell for their time, creativity and support during preparations for the coming live set.
When I first thought about singing the blues I hesitated, how could I even begin to approach the music written, performed and mastered by such greats as those who I listened to in awe, but there came a point when I could no longer only listen, I had to try to express my own kind of blues with as much honesty, passion and purpose as is in me. However do not think I remain anything other than humble as I offer great reverence to so many blues giants who have held me up, consoled, inspired and enthralled me over the years. I could not possibly begin to list them allbut among them would certainly be, Robert Johnson, BB. King, Muddy Waters, Albert King, Freddie King,John Mayall, Peter Green, Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Duster Bennet, Koko Taylor, Alexis Korner, Elmore James, Tina Turner, Etta James, Lightnin' Hopkins, Little Walter and Buddy Guy.
Rachel M, Barbarella And The Boogie Blues
Music is the universal language of humanity, and the blues is its most honest and raw expression.
John Mayall
The blues tells a story, every line of the blues has meaning.
John Lee Hooker
If you’re comfortable in life, I think the blues might evade you. Suffering is something holy.
Peter Green
Singing about your sadness unburdens your soul.
BB King
Never has another style of music so completely captured my attention, my imagination or my soul in the way that the blues has. For me the blues is a way to express, in a very un-obscure and honest way that which you need to say. I think the blues is a way of life. If I am happy I listen to the blues, if I am sad I listen to the blues and if I just want to really feel something I listen to the blues.
